Homelessness and Homelessness Services in Weymouth and Portland, Dorset

The Marshwood Vale Magazine, January 2017:

I saw a news item on television last night.(BBC South, from 2.23 point) about shipping containers being converted into accommodation units (cost £10,000 per conversion) for homeless veterans, with one suggested location being unused MOD land at Bovington Camp, possibly available at a peppercorn rent. This is an initiative of the Help4Homeless Veterans charity and units are intended for homeless men who served in the Military (“Our mission is to source and provide accommodation to Ex Service Personnel who are living rough or in unsatisfactory accommodation”).

This may be considered as a possible interim solution (and it is specifically aimed at ex-Service personnel), but there must surely be other practical policy options for the 160 homeless people of Weymouth and Portland?
